In HOUR TWO we WORK HARD with our Newsmaker Interview:  US Senator Kevin Cramer

US Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) discusses the recent court ruling rumblings involving the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL). According the Senator Cramer the pipeline is in a “funny place” due to legal loopholes and appeal potential.

The senator believes the courts will order a shutdown this week, however, the appeal process and legal proceedings, the pipeline should remain operable.

The interview transitions into how legal bills, climate activists and the ESG influence has become the new normal in oil and gas. Host Jason Spiess asked Senator Cramer if we are at a place now where businesses should start to look legal bills and time disrupters in the same way retail looks at “shrinkage”.

The two also revisit a reoccurring conversation about the changing marketplace. Senator Cramer talks about the elements that remain the same while Spiess inquires about the rise of the “intangible” marketplace.

Senator Cramer, a Senate Banking Committee member, also shares insight from his meeting with JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon in the senator’s office this week. The two discussed the senator’s Fair Access to Banking Act and ways to responsibly achieve climate goals in the United States.
