William Prentice, CEO, Meridian Energy Group, gives an update on the Davis Refinery, being constructed in the Bakken oil fields. The location of the refinery, near Belfield, is close to major transportation and distribution arteries.

Daniel Stenberg, McKenzie County Job Development Authority, gives an update from the heart of the Bakken oil fields. He gives an overview of their unprecedented 300% city growth. Stenberg lists new local businesses that have popped up on Main Street, new school being built and a new airport.

Stenberg, talks about ConocoPhillips, Whiting, Oasis and ONEOK’s investments into Watford City. He also explains why single family homes are needed in Watford City.

Tessa Sandstrom, North Dakota Petroleum Foundation, talks about a fundraising campaign for their Planting for the Future Program. Planting for the Future’s goal is to work with wildlife groups, private landowners, and industry, to create large-scale tree and shrub plantings on private land that will serve as habitat for future generations. Trees and forests are an important resource, providing watershed protection, wildlife habitat, recreational opportunities, and protection for crops, soil and livestock.
