McKenzie County’s oil production is projected to rise from its current production around 16 million barrels a month to between 18-20 million barrels a month by 2022. Further, statewide production is projected to hit 2 million barrels a day by 2040, while at the same time the number of statewide producing wells are expected to increase from 15,942 to 65,000.
