Etam: International Abandoned Wells, Climate Activists and Socialist Overtones
/

Terry Etam, End of the Fossil Fuel Insanity, BOE Report and Public Energy Number One, dives into the abandoned well issue in America and Canada.

Etam explains how Canada approaches the issue of “orphan” and “abandoned” wells and cites a recent Reuters article for the American juxtaposition.

Etam cites “socialist overtones” and politics as a theme in the abandoned well issue. Host Jason Spiess and Etam discuss whether the oil and gas companies will be “blamed” or “bailed out” on this issue when in reality, they are generally not legally responsible.

The term “environmentalist” is also discussed in detail. Etam believes the word “environmentalist” should be changed to “climate activist” when referring to protests. Spiess added the phrase “climate change” should be replaced with “earth changes”, citing the planet’s geographical movements since Pangaea as an example.

The interview also touches on the George Floyd protests and how the issue the issue of racial equality is just the tip of the iceberg.
