/

Jon Clark, Clark Energy Consulting, gives an update from the Houston area in the world of oil and gas. Clark responds to a recent article about ConocoPhillips Chief Executive Officer Ryan Lance expressing surprise at the quick rebound in U.S. oil prices that slipped into the negative territory in April.

The interview dives into energy’s innovation integration with artificial intelligence and remote drilling. Clark explains how some companies have began looking at more remote drilling options as the COVID-19 Shutdown continues and companies are exploring all options.

The idea of a new rig count measuring tool is discussed as well. Host Jason Spiess explains how over the past several years one theme that continues to pop up in conversation is the idea of revising Rig Counts. Clark agrees and continues with the idea of fleshing out Frac Crew Counts.

BP layoffs, the energy economy and what’s next for oil and gas is also discussed in the interview.
