Building the Bakken Radio Episode 60 Segment 2: Bakken Distribution

Rose discusses the $5 billion dollar investment from BNSF into the rail system and their push to eliminate tardy shipments.  Moyes gives an update on Swift Transportation’s conversion to Natural Gas.  Moyes thought Swift’s fleet conversion would be at 10% by the end of the year, he said they may be at 1% due to a number of issues with weights, infrastructure and costs.  Shuck discusses the future of distribution as the Port of Vancouver is becoming a major hub for the Asian markets.  Because of the Bakken, The Port has been showing signs of serious competition to the Houston shipping market.
