Chesapeake All In For Spring, Summer And Beyond

The Crude Life Content News Correspondent Ken Lavin and Chesapeake CEO Domenic "Nick" Dell'Osso

It sure seemed like Chesapeake Energy was all in a NAPE 2022.  From the booths to the meetings to the presentations to the executive chairman playing some reindeer games with the attendees.  Well college football games really.

“Today, we’re going to play a game and the game is going to be like a college football pick game,” Mike Wichterich, executive chairman of Chesapeake Energy Corp., told NAPE attendees during the conference’s keynote luncheon.

Wichterich then put together an engaging presentation comparing independent oil and gas companies to college teams and why he considered them top performers with the disclaimer “you should not listen to my picks on your investments.”

Pioneer (Resources) is just like Alabama,” he said. “Look, these guys [Alabama] have the best athletes, that’s how they win. Pioneer has the best assets, that’s how they win.”

He continued saying that ConocoPhillips, are the Georgia Bulldogs.

“Look at the numbers,” he said, “since they bought Concho, they’re skyrocketing.”
