Texas Becomes First State To Divest From ESG Discrimination

Jason Isaac, Director of Life:Powered, a national initiative of the Texas Public Policy Foundation to raise America’s energy IQ, joined Jason Spiess to talk about how Texas became the first state to break through on the ESG Narrative allowing fossil fuels to have a seat at the table.

“We were the first state to actually get it passed and we are currently working and helping educate policy makers in other states around the country,” Isaac said. “It’s great because the leftist environmentalist climate cult media is starting to write about this and their alarm sensors are up because we got this done in Texas.”

Isaac continues explaining the difference between Texas and states who tried but failed in passing similar legislation.  He also explained how municipalities and the state are tied to companies like BlackRock and Bank of the West.

“We found out it’s sitting in some with Bank of the West and in 2018 Bank of the West came out and said they were going to start divesting and not making funds available companies that are investing in fossil fuels,” Isaac said.  “(Wyoming) Governor Mark Gordan who was then the Treasurer of Wyoming said we are going to pull all our funds out of Bank of the West accounts. And now Mark’s the Governor of Wyoming and they are continuing that.”

Governor Mark Gordan is scheduled to keynote speak at the 23rd Annual Energy Exposition & Symposium in Gillette, Wy on June 22-23.  Western Energy Alliance’s Kathleen Sgamma and energy advocate Alex Epstein is also scheduled to speak at the Energy.

Spiess asked Isaac about the lack of connection happening in America right now with Wealthy Career Politicians and their appointed leaders.  The one two punch can often times be overwhelming for the average person who is often overworked and overstressed.

This transitions the conversation into other areas of advocacy and education.  Isaac talks about their work in the schools and educational events to help balance some of the information being presenting to children.

The two also discuss the use of children in marketing and politics.

Jason Isaac is Director of Life:Powered, a national initiative of the Texas Public Policy Foundation to raise America’s energy IQ. Jason has appeared live on Fox Business Network and other national news shows, and his commentaries have been published in Fox Business, The Hill, The Washington Examiner, The Daily Caller, and other publications. He is a regular contributor to The Epoch Times.

Prior to joining Life:Powered, Jason, a fourth-generation native Texan, was elected four times as the State Representative for Hays and Blanco counties in the Texas Hill Country. He served on the Energy Resources and Environmental Regulation committees, among others. During his eight years of service, he successfully passed legislation to reduce taxes, strengthen election integrity, improve public education, preserve Second Amendment rights, protect local groundwater, and protect private property rights.

He was repeatedly honored for his commitment to limited government and proved to be an effective leader, excelling at both advocating for conservative principles and working across the aisle to find responsible solutions for the future of the Lone Star State.

Jason is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University and serves as a high school lacrosse coach. He lives in Hays County with his wife, Carrie, and two sons.
