Year In Review 2020: Bitcoin Mining Is Now An Emission Management Solution

It’s time once again for our Annual Year In Review interviews! Last April 2020, Tom Masiero, Great American Mining Company, explains how cryptocurrencies like bitcoin are creating a digital pipeline to assist in emission management.

“… we went live in December (2019) and part of the process was you know just having people come by and like kind of stare at it and look and ask questions. Because it’s just this metal container with some fans on the outside you know blowing out hot air and seeing these generators run 24/7.

We just saw a use case where we could help specifically here in the Bakken producers deal with the flare problem that they have and to do it in a much more efficient way than most of the other solutions that are available today.”

Masiero continues into how the digital world has integrated into oil and gas in areas beyond emission management.

The interview also dives into how the future of cash and contracts look with digital currencies. Maserio believes the system constructed will allow energy companies to get financing while banks are being pressured to not finance fossil fuels.
