The North Dakota Petroleum Council (NDPC) sent a letter to the North Dakota Department of Trust Lands outlining their objections to the Land Board’s recent policy on retroactive gas deduct repayments.

Also attached are documents previously used by the Department of Trust Lands to provide direction to lease holders for reporting and calculating royalty payments. Lease holders followed these directions in good faith but the Department is now looking back and informing operators they have not been in compliance, contradicting their own previous directives.
The Land Board will discuss this issue at their upcoming meeting on Thursday, February 27.
