Danny Skiff, Specialized Desanders USA, gives an update on the frac sand industry as well as the filtration, screen and separation market.

Skiff explains how there are different shapes of sand used in different shale plays which can create long term issues like equipment failure.

Geography has influenced the frac sand market considerably, due to shipping costs. For example, Wisconsin and Minnesota sand are considered premium sand due to it’s spherical nature. Skiff said he had heard off-the-record Permian savings numbers of $500K savings per well by using frac sand located near the Permian Basin in Texas.

Skiff also recaps the year 2020 and what Specialized Desanders USA has planned for 2021.
