We recently received a promotional graphic circulating online — and an accompanying email from a reader asking the same question many people are wondering: Is this Landman Season 3 extras casting call in Fort Worth legitimate, or is it a scam?

The flyer features Billy Bob Thornton’s image from the Paramount+ series and boldly announces “NOW CASTING EXTRAS IN FORT WORTH” for Season 3. It lists specific roles with dates and pay rates:

  • College Students — Oct. 7, $150 for 12 hours
  • Elderly Latino Male — Oct. 9, $200 for 12 hours
  • Latino Party Guests — Oct. 9, $150 for 12 hours
  • Museum Docents — Oct. 12, $200 for 12 hours
  • Museum Security — Oct. 12, $200 for 12 hours

The call directs applicants to MyCastingFile.com and notes details such as costume fittings and the possibility of bringing vehicles for certain scenes.

Our Investigation

Casting calls for popular shows frequently attract both genuine opportunities and opportunistic scams, so we checked the details against official reporting and industry sources.

Multiple reputable local and national outlets have covered these exact calls in recent days. The Dallas Morning News, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Houston Chronicle, and Complex all reported that Texas-based Legacy Casting is actively seeking background performers for Landman Season 3 through MyCastingFile.com. The roles, shoot dates (Oct. 7–12 in Fort Worth), and pay rates ($150–$200 for 12-hour days) match the graphic precisely.

Paramount+ has confirmed that production on Season 3 is underway in the Fort Worth area. Filming began in late September 2026 after earlier delays, with the core cast returning and new series regular Michael Kelly joining. Background casting is being handled locally by Legacy Casting, which has posted multiple waves of open calls on MyCastingFile for the production.

MyCastingFile itself is a long-standing platform used by productions for extras and background work. While any online casting site warrants normal caution (never pay to apply or “guarantee” a role), these specific notices have been independently verified by local newsrooms as coming from the legitimate casting company working on the show.

Bottom Line

The graphic and the casting opportunity it promotes are real. Landman Season 3 is filming in North Texas right now, and the production is hiring paid extras for the listed dates and roles.

If you live in the Fort Worth area and fit one of the descriptions, the proper way to apply is to create an account (or log in) at MyCastingFile.com and submit directly through the open calls. Casting has requested that applicants not call or email.

As always with background work: treat it as a one-day job, follow the instructions carefully, and never send money or sensitive financial information to “secure” a spot. Legitimate productions pay you — not the other way around.

We’ll continue monitoring additional casting notices as Season 3 production continues through early 2027.
