Interview: Julia Olguin, Executive Vice President, Strategy and Markets, Meridian Energy Group
Julia Olguin discusses the new Davis Refinery coming to the Bakken oil field and Belfield, ND. Olguin shares what products will be refined, what the timeline looks like for the project and how the company will be relying on local services.
Olguin is Executive Vice President, Strategy and Markets for Meridian Energy Group. Ms. Olguin joined Meridian in 2016, bringing more than 25 years of experience in energy, trading, and marketing and analytics development to her role as leader of the Company’s strategic growth and marketing initiatives.
Prior to Meridian, she held leadership roles at several global energy companies. She served as Vice President of North America Power Trading for BP, and has also held leadership positions with PG&E, NextEra, Mirant, and Southern Company.
Ms. Olguin began her career as an energy trader at Vastar Resources, followed by several years in trading and marketing leadership roles at Southern Company.
Ms. Olguin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from NMSU and a Master of Arts degree in Economics from NMSU
